Michael Lynch - Business Strategies International (BSI)

Michael Lynch from Business Strategies International, is a specialist in identifying tax concession opportunities for businesses. He will discuss the Research and Development (R&D) Tax Concession and what entitlements are currently available and whether your company could qualify. Michael will also discuss what the proposed R&D Tax Credit could look like and why it has received so much coverage in the media.

The Research and Development (R&D) Tax Concession provides eligible companies with additional tax deductions for certain categories of expenditure incurred on eligible R&D activities. From 1 July 2010 the R&D Tax Concession will most likely be replaced by an R&D Tax Credit.

Also, hear from a prominent aerospace industry leaders about what it takes to compete successfully for aerospace work.

 

Machine Demonstrations


See the Makino D500 simultaneous five axis high accuracy machining centre. The Makino D500 is the latest technology to efficiently machine difficult materials and complex work pieces. Additionally, the Makino Thermal Stabiliser technology, isolates the machine from changing shop conditions to machine accurately.

The Omax 5555 will demonstrate how it cuts complex parts out of most materials including metal, plastic, glass, ceramic and composites directly from a CAD drawing or DXF file. JetMachining is ideal for short-run part production, just-in-time manufacturing, tooling and prototype part development. No tool changes or complex fixturing means reduced setup times, in some cases by up to 50%.

Iscar, tooling specialists, will demonstrate its latest range 3P products which deliver productivity, performance and profitability.

Michael Lynch - Business Strategies International (BSI)

Michael is responsible for the operation and management of the BSI Innovation R&D Team; one of Australia’s largest practices specialising in government R&D tax incentives. Michael manages a client base of over 180 R&D Tax Concession clients

Since 1991 he has been involved in assisting clients to access private investment and Government business assistance and incentives. He has extensive experience in all facets of the R&D Tax Concession including the superseded R&D syndication program, R&D Grants and management of on-going projects. He is acknowledged as an expert in this area, being called on to submit practitioner articles and to speak at industry conferences.

He is a member of the industry consultative group formed by AusIndustry and the ATO as well as being a member of a smaller group that provides advice and feedback to the departments on the application of the R&D Tax Concession program. He has been called to appear before the Senate Economics Committee during investigations of proposed amendments to the R&D Tax Concession
